The 4 steps that got me from broke to $10k month

Last week I had a call with one of my students.

She was frustrated. Posting content everywhere. Trying everything to get clients. But still no clients. Still no money.

It reminded me of myself a few years ago.

I was doing the same thing. Everything, everywhere.

Posting on Instagram. Writing blog posts. Making pretty designs.

Zero results.

I felt like a failure. Maybe you feel the same way right now.

Here's what changed everything for me.

They start in the wrong place

Here's why so many people struggle:

They make pretty things but don't solve real problems. They try to help everyone instead of helping someone specific. They can't explain why they're different from everyone else. They post content that nobody cares about. They give up after a few months of no results.

You can fix all of this. Here's how, step by step:

Step 1: Find Your Money Skill

This is the most important part.

You need a skill that makes money. Not just any skill. A skill that solves problems people will pay to fix.

Can you teach it to someone else? Does it solve a real problem? Will people pay good money for it?

I thought my skill was "making pretty designs." Wrong. My real skill is "helping businesses get more customers through better design." See the difference? One is about me. One is about them.

Step 2: Pick Your People

You try to help everyone. Big mistake.

You need to help one specific type of person. Someone who desperately needs what you do. Someone who has money to pay you.

Here's how to find them:

Who really hurts? Find people who have big problems. Like this: Your friend owns a restaurant. His website is broken. People can't order food. He loses $500 every day. That's pain. Real pain.

Who pays for help? Some people have no money. Skip them. Find people who already spend money. They buy software. They hire helpers. They fix problems fast.

Who do you know? Pick people like you. I know online business people. I used to be one. I get their problems. I speak like them.

Pick your people. Stick with them.

I stopped saying "I help small businesses." Started saying "I help people who sell online courses but can't get anyone to buy."

Much better. Specific people with specific problems and specific money.

Step 3: Show Why You're Different

You don't need to be the best in the world. You need to be the perfect fit for your people.

What makes you special:

• Your story (I was broke for 2 years).
• Your way of doing things (I focus on getting sales, not just pretty pictures).
• Your promise (More customers, not just nice designs).

Think about what makes you different. Then talk about that everywhere. Make it obvious why someone should pick you instead of everyone else.

Step 4: Tell People About It

Now you can start marketing. Everything is different now.

Pick one way to reach people:

Send helpful emails to people who need your help. Message people directly with something useful. Make content that teaches what your people need to know. Call people on the phone (if you're brave).

Pick one method. Get really good at it. Then add another.

Like, example, this step is where the magic happens. Everything you did in steps 1-3 makes this step actually work.

Bottom Line

Know your skill. Pick your people. Show why you're different. Tell them about it.

I posted for 2 years. Made nothing. Always tried to help everyone. Then I picked one type of person. Focused only on them.

• Month 1 made $1000.
• Month 3 made $3,000-$8,000.
• Month 8 made $10,000.

The difference?

I stopped being for everyone. Started being perfect for someone.

Personal desire is more powerful than business desire.
